About the Museum




The Silvery Slocan Museum, located in the former Bank of Montreal building on Main Street, has been a fixture in New Denver B.C. for over 100 years. The museum features exhibits about the area’s heritage, including its mining, logging and agricultural history, as well as the recently restored Lancet motor launch. 

Admission is by donation.

The museum also houses the local Chamber of Commerce Visitor Info Centre. Open weekends from the May long weekend through Labour Day. Open daily July and August.

  1. I have some photos that my father had taken over the years that need a good home. He lived in Nelson for his entire life (99 yrs) and loved to explore and enjoy the outdoors around the area. The photos range from the 1930's through the 70's. If you would be interested I would be happy to donate them to your group.
